Chutescoops are sized according to SAIL LUFF measurements (use the "I" dimension of the boat if the sail luff is not known).  The model numbers give the dimensions of the Chutescoop sleeve: ie. a model 1344 has a 13 inch diameter and a sleeve length of 44 feet, while a model 930 has a diameter of 9 inches and a length of 30 feet.  

Chutescoop sleeves ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SHORTER than the sail luff.  On CRUISING SPINNAKERS, use a Chutescoop that stops just short of the LEECH CLEW (unless the measurement between luff length and leech length is excessively long).  On POLED SPINNAKERS allow 3 to 4 feet of sail below the sleeve to permit the pole to be trimmed. 

Some customers may desire a Chutescoop length that nearly covers the entire sail.  In which case, order a size closest to the sail length.  If doubt exists as to which size to order, select the larger size or contact the V.F. Shaw Company Inc. for advice.  The user can adjust all Chutescoops shorter.  This allows the user to exactly fit the Chutescoop to his sail.
